1200 JK laborers reach Lakhanpur, put under quarantine | KNO

Jammu, Apr 28 (KNO): Around twelve hundred laborers from Jammu and Kashmir, who were working in different parts of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh and were stuck due to lockdown, reached Lakhanpur on Monday evening and have been put into quarantine facilities of administration. Commissioner Secretary of PHE, I&FC Department, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, who is presently deployed in Kathua to oversee the efforts of containment and management of Corona Virus, informed about arrival of around 1200 laborers on Monday. In a tweet, Sahu said, "More than 1200 stranded labourers at Punjab and Himachal Pradesh were also facilitated yesterday with the help of respective governments to reach Lakhanpur and sent to quarantine centers." Sahu further added, "Kudos to team Lakhanpur for excellent arrangements." Pertinent to mention here that a large number of people from Jammu and Kashmir are working in different parts of India and are stuck due to lockdown with people demanding evacuation to their respective native areas –(KNO)
